President of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, has observed with keen interest, the alarming trend of unknown and certain private award scheme participated by Ministers, Chief Executive Officers of States and other government appointees.
In a communique dated 8th June 2026 and signed by the President’s Executive Secretary, Dr. Callistus Mahama, the President admonished his appointees to refrain from engaging in award schemes which are not transparent, unclear and misleading since such events could undermine the integrity of the office they hold.
According to the Head of State and Government, appointees should concentrate on delivering on the promises highlighted on the NDC Manifesto following the overwhelming mandate and endorsement given to them by Ghanaians during the 2024 General Election.
In conclusion, President Mahama posited that proper review and assessment of the efforts and activities of the appointees shall be carried by the government in order to help ascertain the future of such Ministers and CEOs in the future NDC government.
